IQNA – A senior Hezbollah official underlined the continuation of the resistance against the Israeli regime amid the genocidal war on Gaza.

Senior Hezbollah official Sheikh Mohammad Yazbek

Delivering Friday prayer sermons in the city of Baalbek in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley, Sheikh Mohammad Yazbek, the head of the Sharia council of Hezbollah, said all of the resistance forces in the region will continue to stand by the Gaza Strip and never abandon it.

He said the resistance project is one adopted by an Ummah that will never accept humiliation, disgrace and concession to aggressors and colonial powers, Al-Manar reported.

He added that Israel is a usurper regime and a cancerous tumor targeting the Islamic Ummah.

The senior cleric deplored the Israeli regime’s genocide in the Gaza Strip, saying it demonstrates the fake and savage nature of the Western civilization.

He said the determination and resolve of the heroic and resistance people of Gaza will not be undermined by the Zionist regime’s brutalities.

He went on to say that the resistance of the Palestinian people will continue until victory against the the cancerous tumor of the Zionist regime.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheikh Yazbek reiterated that Hezbollah attaches importance to national unity and peace coexistence in Lebanon and confrontation with the Zionist enemy.

The Israeli regime’s war on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, has killed more than 33,300 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and wounded many more.

The war has pushed 85% of Gaza’s population into internal displacement amid a crippling blockade of most food, clean water and medicine, while 60%of the enclave’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the UN.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
